School Sport

MK School sports provide a multitude of opportunities for students of the MK family of schools.

Daily Physical Activity (DPA) is a long-time initiative promoted and fostered by schools. Although Physical Education(PE) is enriched within the curriculum, it is not the sole means of garnering physical activity for the students. Accordingly, DPA is encouraged to be implemented beyond the scope of PE classes.

The MK Sports Events Schedule runs from Sept. to June during each school calendar year.

MASH style events are held in the following sports; Pickleball, Hockey, volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, badminton, and Athletics (Track & Field). MASH simply means that students from all the participating schools are put on separate teams, for each event, so that it is not a school vs school scenario. This provides for a more inclusive environment and fosters good sportsmanship and camaraderie among the students.

Diabetes Education & Nutrition sessions are held at MK Schools, to make students more aware of the challenges our people face in the fight against diabetes.

Marathon Clubs are held in MK Schools which are inclusive of, Physical activity, Culture, language, and Elder engagement.

Professional Development (PD) sessions are held twice during school calendar years with MK PE Teachers. Various topics and skills training are held during these sessions.
