MK Sports Department provides ongoing coach development and leadership training opportunities throughout the year for the Mi’kmaw Communities in Nova Scotia. MK Sports Department hosts events such as the Mi’kmaw Sport Summit which is hosted annually in November in Halifax with the Mi’kmaw Sports Hall of Fame Banquet, Mi’kmaw Coaching Conferences which happen semi-annually, along with a variety of events throughout the year to support coach development. MK Sports also supports programs such as the Aboriginal Apprenticeship Coaching Program, as well as additional support for the development and certification of coaches from the community level to high-performance coaching streams.
