Although it was a short month, Students and staff at We'koqma'q Mi'kmaw School were very busy!

They kicked off the month by celebrating World Cancer Day, in memory of Myla. The 2025 theme was ' United By Unique' They asked students to wear pink, purple, gold and white and served Myla's favourite meal, Spaghetti & Hot Dogs. They also held afternoon activities to celebrate the courage, resilience & Myla's positive vibes.

Their Middle School students had the opportunity to go downhill skiing this month!

Students from grades 7-12 attended a Health are Career Fair this month. They explored their options, met & heard first hand with people in the field. It gave students an opportunity to ask questions & listen to the presenters.

With mixed emotions, We'koqma'q announced the retirement of Coreena, who was a dedicated and cherished teacher at We'koqma'q Mi'kmaw School for the past 17 years.

Throughout her tenure, Coreena made a profound impact on the lives of countless students and colleagues with her unwavering passion, dedication, and commitment to education. Her contributions to our school community have been invaluable, and she will be greatly missed by all.

We wish Coreena all the best as she embarks on this new chapter of her life. May her retirement be filled with joy, relaxation, and the pursuit of new adventures.

Beverly Jeddore and Terry Denny spent some time in the Elementary Mi’kmaw class to visit and interact with students. The students along with the teacher enjoyed having them in the class.

Winter Carnival was held during the last week of February and everyone had a fantastic time! The students took part in PJ day, crazy hair day, making snow sculptures and so much more!

The White Bear drum group had a very busy month, performing at several different events. While they were away the Little Bear drum group stepped up to perform the Honour Song for the school. Everyone is so proud of both drum groups!
