Yolanda is a proud wife and mom to five and kiju to four beautiful babies. She is passionate about the Mi’kmaw language and makes it her daily mission to give thanks to the Creator for this gift. At Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey, she is responsible for assisting Mi’kmaw language educators in developing and creating lesson plans, curriculum, and oral assessment and translation when needed. Yolanda also assists other language and culture programs within the organization. One program that she is especially proud to be part of is the AppDevelopment team, creating and publishing the language apps has brought language revitalization to a new level. This includes the L’nuimk Assessment, Antle and his friends have inspired a new generation of language learners. In her down time, Yolanda enjoys baking and decorating cakes, crocheting hats, reading, and glamping in her trailer during summer months.
