Sharon Bernard has been our Mi'kmaw Education Services Coordinator since October 16/23. Prior to working with MK, she has worked with Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development as an Consultant for Treaty Education and Reconciliation, Principal for Maupeltuewey Kina’matno’kuom, and Early Childhood Educator for Membertou Daycare.
Sharon has obtained a Certificate in Native & Northern Education from McGill University, a Bachelor of Community Studies from University of Cape Breton, a Bachelor of Education and Masters of Education from St.Francis Xavier University. Sharon lives in Membertou with her husband Darrell John, in her spare time, she enjoys travelling, camping and spending time with family and friends.
