Miranda has worked in the educational field for the Eskasoni School Board for over 27 years. She has worked in many different roles such Student Support Worker, Guidance Counsellor and Day CareDirector before she started employment with Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey as an Early Childhood Education Consultant in March 2020.

As part of the Language and Culture team, she is responsible to work with program Directors to drive the development of a comprehensive program aimed at enhancing children’s cognitive, spiritual, physical and emotional development. She will work with communities, principals, teachers, Director of Education and other stakeholders. She will work with the teachers to implement age appropriate programming and collaborate as a team to deliver early learning programs in the communities.

Miranda is married to Allison, and they have two sons, Ashton and Arden, all of whom reside in Unama’kiat Eskasoni Mi’kmaw Nation. She takes pride in her Mi’kmaq culture and language and instills this in her children and grandchildren. Miranda and Allison are blessed with their loving grandchildren who are their pride and joy.
