Michael R. Denny is the Red Road Project Coordinator at Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey. As a member ofMK’s Language and Culture Team, he is responsible for Red Road Youth Employment, bridging the gap between Elders and Youth, Living “the good red road” by having a sober life style, and promoting the Mi’kmaw language and Culture.
Over the years, Michael R. has created a network of Elders and knowledge holders to draw upon many different Mi’kmaw teachings to help students, teachers and communities. Passionate about the Mi’kmaw culture, Michael R. works closely with many communities across Nova Scotia and Mi’kma’kito bring back our cultural teachings. Michael R. Graduated from CBU in 2020 with a Bachelors of Arts degree and also holds a certificate in Mi’kmaw Addictions Healing from NSCC.
Michael R. Currently resides in Eskasoni, NS with his wife, Koran, and their daughters, Averie and Cedar.
Outside of MK, Michael R. is a renown powwow MC and Arena Director, traditional singer, and drum keeper for the Stoney Bear Singers.
