Kalolin Sylvester is the Youth Engagement Lead at Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey. Her job is to provide language revitalization opportunities to youth across Mi’kma’ki. Kalolin is from Membertou, and a proud mother to her 6 year old son. All throughout Kalolin’s lifetime she has been inspired to learn her language and culture. She loves to visit Elders, go to ceremonies, be out on the land with her son, and learn her language, and attend cultural events. Kalolin is grateful to work in the role as Youth Engagement Lead at Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey as she is passionate about learning and teaching the language and culture to youth, with the guidance from other knowledge keepers and Elders.
