Candace Bernard is from Eskasoni and is the proud Mother of two boys Jozef and Reece. Candace is the Elementary Literacy Consultant for Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey. She has been in the Education system as a Primary Teacher at Eskasoni Elementary & Middle School for many years. Candace has a Master in Education from STFX, as well as her Certificate in Mi’kmaq Pedagogy from STFX, Masters Level.
As a part of the Academic Services team, she is responsible for encouraging and promoting Early Elementary Literacy best practices by coaching education staff in effective literacy practices, and working with member communities.
Outside of Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey Candace enjoys spending time with her Family and Friends and also traveling the World.
