The Red Road Project held a Winter Mawio'mi in Millbrook this month. The day was filled with games, teachings, food, dancing and a whole lot of fun!
The day began with a Waltes tournament. There were many exciting matches to take in! Our winners for the tournament were:
1st- Clarey Paul
2nd - Dale Poulette
3rd - Larry Pierro
The tournament was followed by some teachings at the community hall and a wonderful feast. In the evening, there was drumming and dancing where people had the opportunity to showcase Mi'kmaq songs and chants. There was also a kojua competition. It was such an amazing day! We would like to extend a huge thank you to Chief Bob Gloade and his community for hosting this event.
