We had the opportunity to gather with Mi'kmaw sport leaders and advocates from across the province at our annual Sport Summit this month. The Sport Summit provides a space for MPAL's and other community sport leaders to collaborate and learn about issues surrounding sport. This year, there were presentations on Safe Sport, Para Sport, the Aboriginal Sport Circle and much more.
A banquet is always held during the sport summit where we recognize the achievements of athletes, coaches and builders. This year 6 people were inducted into the Mi'kmaq Sport Hall of Fame. We also took the opportunity to recognize our Male and Female Athlete of the year and Male and Female Coach of the year. Congratulations to our winners:
