We hosted our MK Professional Development day in We'koqma'q this month. The theme this year was Mawi-klu'k Ta'n Tujiw Wiaqa'lut Msit Wen - Inclusion is Best for Everyone. The event was coordinated by Doreen Stevens, Student Services Consultant and Ambrah MacNeil, Autism Teacher Specialist, along with a team of staff from Mi'kmaw Kina'matnewey.
The agenda included presentations on topics such as land-based learning and accessibility, visuals and visual schedules, American Sign Language, supporting gender diverse students, art, technology, and so much more!
We hosted nearly 300 educators for this event and it wouldn't have been possible without We'koqma'q Mi'kmaw School being such gracious hosts. The entire staff and students were so supportive and we really appreciate all their help.
