The annual LSK bass fishing event was held on May 4th and 5th. Each year, students take part in a variety of workshops on the first day where they learn about things like conservation, how to cast, and tie hooks. They head out to the river to do some fishing on the second day. There is always a team of University research students on hand who help measure the fish, tag them, and release them back into the water. This year, students from Pictou Landing and Potlotek joined the students from LSK on their fishing trip. It was a very cold day on the river but that didn't stop the fish from biting! There were many donations for door prizes for the students, including a big donation from Cabela's that the students were very excited about. Everyone had a great time as always and there are hopes to extend the invitation to even more schools next year.
