We were so excited to see the return of the MK Language and Cultural Showcase this month. Although the weather didn't cooperate and a few of our schools had to cancel their plans to attend, Maupeltuewey Kina’matno’kuom were such gracious hosts to the students who came out to share their songs, dance, artwork, and speeches.
The Language and Cultural Showcase used to be held annually to provide a space for students to celebrate and demonstrate their pride in their language and culture. Over the past few years, the event has been put on hold but everyone was so excited to see it back in our schools this year.
We want to thank the students for their beautiful performances and their respect while watching other perform. We also want to acknowledge all of the work done behind the scenes by teachers, administrators, and families who have encouraged the youth to learn their language and be proud of their culture. We can't wait to see what they will bring next year!
