The Kepmite'tatemina'j Youth Mentor group, is a group of Mi'kmaq students from Wasoqopa'q First Nation, who volunteer consistently . They drum, sing, speak at events, smudge, cook, serve food, and whatever is asked of them. Without them, the events we organize and participate in would not be the success they have been. They are respectful and proudly represent our community. For these reasons they were nominated for the Lieutenant Governor's Respectful Citizenship Award. We are beyond proud and excited to share they were selected and will officially receive their awards May 28th.
