Operational Planning
This month we took some time to review our operational plans from last year and plan for the upcoming year.
Post Secondary
Our Post Secondary Consultant Melissa Reid coordinated a professional development opportunity for adult educators this month. On January 9th, Bob Crane, Numeracy Consultant, gave the educators a wide variety of strategies to draw from when teaching Adult Math learners. The educators really appreciated the opportunity to learn new ways to engage their students.
Melissa also organized a Chain Saw Awareness Program which was offered to adult learners in Sipekne'katik this month. The session was facilitated by Safety Services NS and there was a great turnout of interested participants! Melissa is always looking for ways to support community programming, even if they are outside of classroom-based learning environments. The MK ECE team provided Ribbon Skirts/Vest kits to Day Care’s, Head Starts and Kindergarten’s in our communities in the Fall. Check out the beautiful ribbon skirts/vests that were made by an elder in We'koqma'q for their day care!
