Biography:

Allan MacKenzie is the Director with Atlantic Canada’s First Nation Help Desk, the IT Department of Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey (MK). The Help Desk provides connectivity, tech support, videoconferencing, and technology integration training/support to Atlantic Canadian First Nation schools, health centres & communities. Prior to entering this role, Allan spent four years as Technology Integration Lead with MK, where his main responsibilities included providing training/support in an effort to promote the use of technology in P-12 classrooms. Allan also has 5 years experience as Atlantic Regional Manager of In.Business: A Mentorship Program for Indigenous Youth, and 5 years teaching at the middle and high school levels.

He holds undergraduate degrees in Business and Arts from Cape Breton University, an Education Degree from Mount Saint Vincent University, a Certificate in Mathematical Sciences for Education from St. Mary’s University, and a Master of Education Degree – Leadership & Administration, from Saint Francis Xavier University. More recently, Allan has completed the following certifications: Apple Teacher, Google Certified Educator (Level 1 & 2), and Chrome OS IT Administrator. In his spare time, Allan is an avid golfer, marathon runner, and triathlete.
