Sipekne’katik

School got off to a great start at LSK in Sipekne’katik. They celebrated Nitap Day by learning about and modelling friendship and kindness. This month’s seven sacred teaching is focusing on Mikitelsulti, courage or bravery. They have been connecting that teaching to what their community is doing while protecting their treaty rights.
Students in Grades 5 & 6 participated in a tree planting session for Mi’kmaq Language and Outdoor education. Department of Natural Resources donated 24 seedlings to recognize National Forestry Week.
