Employment Opportunity: Administration & Finance Clerk
August 28th, 2008Mi’kmaw Kina’tmatnewey is currently seeking applications for the position of Administration & Finance Clerk. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Finance & Planning.
Scope of Responsibilities
Providing general Mail Service
Providing clerical support to the organization
Assisting the Finance Officer with the preparation of reports for various agency; payroll; payment verification & processing; and monthly preparation of financial reports.
Assisting the Director of Finance & Planning with scheduling appointments; researching & compiling information; maintaining employee files; administering leave of absence system; preparation of purchase orders & contracts; and other related general office duties.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have completed a recognized secretarial or commercial business and accounting program; experience in working with Native communities and organizations; excellent typing skills with a minimum of 60 wpm with 100% accuracy; familiar wit computer programs such as WordPerfect, Simply Accounting, Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, E-mail, internet and web publishing; possess a good knowledge of First Nations managed education programs; must have excellent verbal, communication and writing skills in English; ability to work with cooperative spirit wiht all staff; ability to speak Mi’kmaw language would be an asset; be flexible. Take initiative and work effectively with minimum supervision.
Team Position: Full time (term)
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications
